How Codex resets work
Banked resets: OpenAI sometimes drops a reset into your account to save for later, usually with a launch or a promotion. Using one refills your 5-hour and weekly windows, and moves your weekly reset to seven days from then. You can't buy them.
Instant resets: Plus and Pro accounts can buy one at checkout in ChatGPT or the Codex app. It applies straight away, can't be saved, and isn't refunded. People have reported $40–$80.

A day pass keeps you working today. It's a separate service, not an official reset, so your own limit still comes back on its usual schedule.
Passes work in Codex, in the ChatGPT desktop app or the Codex CLI, signed in with an API key. ChatGPT on the web, ChatGPT Classic and the mobile apps aren't supported.
